Two outstanding models of Community Based Centers for Children with Disabilities, are effectively handed over, to the municipalities of Durrës and Vlora. After three years of operation and support by Save the Children in partnership with the local NGO, the municipalities are now committed to continue the centers operation with full efficiency and according to the standards provided by law.

On the International Children’s Rights Day, about 200 children and youth in Burrel, where children’s rights are particularly at stake, marched and advocated for their rights to be respected and fulfilled. In the "Listen to My Voice" awareness raising activity, children called to authorities to be accountable to children and improve their children rights situation focusing most deprived children.

On Oct 24-26, a team of 12 people from Bvlgari and Save the Children Italy visit our Youth Empowerment project in Albania, implemented in two locations, targeting most deprived youth in and out of the school system. Bvlgari team, led by Global and Europe Managing Directors, had the chance to get a real insight of the project impact and youth benefits and changes at a personal and professional skills level and economic empowerment through their business startups and employment.

Albania has one of the youngest population in Europe. The unemployment rate for young people (age 15-29) remains high at 25%, associated with substantial skills mismatches. Our Youth Empowerment project is helping the most vulnerable youth to overcome obstacles and realize their job aspirations by developing their personal, vocational and employability skills. Here are some of them who are supported to develop skills, find a job, open up their businesses and lead a life towards the economic empowerment.
