IMPROVING CHILD-FRIENDLY JUSTICE SYSTEM IN ALBANIA

Tirana, 17 December 2020 - A videoconference on “Strengthening Child – Friendly Justice System in Albania”, was held  in the framework of the project implemented in collaboration between the UNICEF and Save the Children, with the financial support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice  and the Municipality of Berat and Gjirokastra. The conference showcased the results, key findings and strategic recommendations for advancing child-friendly justice system, with the focus on the local level.

Raise your voice with us and #Reimagine a better world for every child in Albania

This is a day to raise our voices and unite. On the World Children’s day, the international agencies and/or organizations European Union, UNICEF, Save the Children, World Vision and Terre des hommes, join forces to ask government that doing business as usual for children it’s not enough. We need new ways of engagement to build a political space for children with a special focus on the most affected and most disadvantaged.

Approval of ‘General Criteria for Children's Participation’

We congratulate and highly appreciate the approval of the ‘General Criteria for Children's Participation’ by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. Endorsement of these criteria are a very important step forward towards the meaningful participation of children in activities, consultations and decision-making processes for children and with children.

Child-Friendly space for children and adolescents affected by the earthquake

The child-friendly space, set up in the village of Bubq, is now the most supportive and fun environment for around 130 children and adolescents affected by the devastating earthquake that hit Albania on 26 November.
