"Increasing public investment for children in Albania"

To contribute to the protection and realization of children's rights by increasing public investment, 80 children and young people, from four regions of Albania, were trained and enriched their knowledge on participatory budgeting and budget analysis at municipal level.

Children participants are enabled to be part of the consultation and engagement throughout the budgeting process, specifically, the preliminary budget discussions, approval and implementation at the municipal level. These children and youth already trained and empowered, will initiate and organize awareness raising campaigns to increase investment for children and creating a new culture of child participation in budgeting.

On the next week other training sessions will be conducted with civil society organizations, working in the field of children's rights, aiming to further support their efforts to influence increase and specific budget allocations for children as well as transparency in budget for children in central and municipal level.
