Children are facing with fear and anxiety after the devastating earthquake
Many families and children, affected by the devastating earthquake, with magnitude 6.4 and its thousands strong aftershocks, continue to experience fear and anxiety. Thousands of buildings collapsed or badly damaged causing 51 dead people, among whom at least 8 were children age 2-8, and hundreds of wounded people. The schools in the most 7 affected areas including Tirana, the capital, remain closed up to Dec 9. The main need and desire of the families is a safe place for living and return to a normal life with their children. Save the Children, is closely working with local and central governance, to assess and respond to the needs of affected families and children, mainly with psycho-social support and providing basic means for living in the set-up shelters and centers.
