Make Inclusive Education a Reality for Every Child

The Regional Conference “Make Inclusive Education a Reality for Every Child”, organized in Tirana, addressed issues related to access and quality of inclusive education in Albania and in the region and intended to raise awareness of policymakers and duty bearers as well as academics and other actors operating in the field of inclusive education, on the need to support and implement best practices that guarantee and promote the right to quality and inclusive education and the equal opportunities to education for every child.

Main participants at this conference were the Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs. Mirela Karabina, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Kosovo, Mr. Alush Istogu, Representative of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Mr. Nino Merola, Save the Children Italy, Albania and Kosovo, representatives of the European Union, Regional Education Authorities, representatives of University of Bologna and Modena in Italy, University of Korca and Elbasan in Albania, teachers, parents, children and civil society organizations.

The conference was organised in the framework of the project “Inclusive Education for Children with Special Educational Needs in Albania”, financed by Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development and implemented in partnership with MEDPAK and in cooperation with Ministry of Education and Sport.
