#Race4Survival in Albania

Today, in #Race4Survival global campaign, 400 children and young people, from several regions of Albania, through the national forum, running and messages called to government authorities to end preventable child deaths, ensure access and quality to health care services for every child, ensure qualified doctors for every child, improve health care institutions infrastructure, ensure medical supplies and provide free medications, ensure free dental care for children, improve hygiene and provide sport infrastructure in schools, promote healthy nutrition & feeding practices for children at all relevant settings.

Through this campaign, Save the Children in Albania highlighted the need to increase public investment in children especially in the field of health care, welfare and education which contribute to a better future for children and the whole society; ensure access to quality health care services for all children and in particular for children in need, such as Roma children, children with disabilities, children in rural areas, children in street situations; ensure multisectorial cooperation and better coordination of services that affect the well-being and holistic development of children.
Government authorities in the event such as Minister of Health, Deputy Minister of Education, Deputy Minister of Social Welfare and Youth, Deputy Mayor of Tirana answered children’ questions on main issues of concern for them in health, wellbeing and education. Children active participation and messages in the campaign were supported also by US Ambassador, UNICEF and Italian Embassy reps.
