Multidisciplinary approach in support to children and youth in need

Thursday 31 March 2016

Qualified multidisciplinary approach in support to children in need by local and central actors in the field of education, social protection, health, civil registration, employment and vocational services proved to be successful and sustainable. This approach, applied by Save the Children in partnership with local organization Woman in Development, helped about 503 children age 0-18, in Shkodra town. They benefited and received basic services including food, education, psycho-social, health and civil registration support as well as participated in recreational activities, while Roma youth were supported with vocational training and job market orientation.

These achievements including capacity building for professionals and establishment of the networking with Local Civil Society Organizations were some of the main highlights in the project accomplishment meeting held recently in Shkodra. This was part of the project “Count Us In-Social inclusion for Roma and Egyptian communities in Shkodra”, financed by European Union, implemented by Save the Children and Woman in Development in cooperation with Shkodra Municipality during January 2014 - March 2016.
