For and by children's rally against child labor

Friday 4 December 2015

In the for and by children rally against child labor representatives of children, from the Daily Center for street children situation and basic education schools in Shkodra, urged local and central authorities to take appropriate measures to prevent hazardous work for children and to step up efforts to ensure equal access to education, health and social development.

Poverty and lack of access to education are some of the main reasons that force children to work. Providing education and support to services for children and their families are some of the key factors to prevent the exploitation of children, to break the cycle of poverty and improve their quality of life.

This rally was organized in the framework of the project "Count us In-Social Inclusion for Roma and Egyptian children in Albania, funded by the EU and implemented by Save the Children in partnership with the Women in Development Shkodra and in cooperation with the Municipality of Shkodra.
In Child Protection work, Save the Children has impacted the life of most vulnerable children and their families facing poverty, discrimination and exclusion by offering education, psycho-social support and referrals to ensure access to public and non public services.
