Call to authorities to ensure accountability to children

Today, at the National Conference of People's Advocate "Do not Leave anyone Behind", Save the Children called on decision-making institutions, at central and municipal level, to ensure adequate, equitable and efficient public investment for children in order to respond to their needs for education, protection and other support services, to improve child data for informing decision-making on issues related to children and improve child participation mechanisms at all levels of decision-making. During her speech, Anila Meco, Country Director of Save the Children in Albania emphasized that ensuring access to quality services for children and keep the promise to not leave any children behind can only be achieved if the authorities work to empower the institutions responsible for the implementation and monitoring of children's rights; to ensure maximum accountability to children, as well as meaningful participation of children in all decision-making and accountability processes.
