Children and families displaced by Tuesday's earthquake shelter in Durres.

As strong quakes and aftershocks continue in Albania, thousands of children and their families – some of whom saw their homes destroyed in Tuesday’s earthquake – need vital support, Save the Children warned today.

School and community play a fundamental role in embracing and accepting children with #DownSyndrome. We fight for an inclusive education for all children #WoldDownSyndromeDay. Socialization of Children with Down syndrome was the main topic of the awareness activities, organized today, with parents and children at one of the Education program included school "Mustafa Gjestila" in Burrel. Parents and children gained knowledge and promoted their messages through the information session, drawing exhibition and materials.

This successful story is part of the sub-granting scheme of the project Civic Engagement for a Functional Judiciary system and Access to Justice in Albania, funded by European Union and implemented by Save the Children and Centre of Integrated Legal Services and Practices.
